About Me!

I’m Mustafa & I’m really passionate about Engineering, Math, and Finance.

This newsletter is my goal to getting a lot better at writing.

Writing is a form of selling, while engineering is a form of building. I want to be great at both!

This idea comes from Naval, which I think he took from Marc Andreessen.

Things I believe in

  • Time is the denominator. Everything must be done to the highest quality as quickly as possible.

  • Relentlessness wins.

  • You can learn anything really quickly. In less than 20 focused hours, you can become better than the vast vast vast majority of the world at a given area.

  • We are already in a singularity. Google search is the singularity.

My Inspirations

All time inspirations

  • Issac Newton: All of the modern day physics and mathematics are because of his work. There’s a ton of games to play in this world (status, money, etc), he shows you that the only game that matters is nature. He died about 500 years ago and people still talk about him.

  • Nikola Tesla: Unparalleled genius.

Modern day inspirations

  • Travis Kalanick: Co-founder of Uber. He’s just a masterclass on relentlessness. He has this phrase called the champion mindset

  • Elon Musk: No explanation needed.

  • Joshua Kushner: Founder of Thrive Capital. One of the most successful and interesting VC firms. In terms of the tech space, they don’t have

  • Sam Altman: A generalist that’s extremely intelligent. He can talk about anything in tech, and there’s always something to learn.

  • Demis Hassabis: Co-founder of Deepmind and one of the pioneers of modern day reinforcement learning. Deepmind was a joke for years. He shows you have contrarian conviction wins.

  • Greg Brockman: He’s an important lesson on hard work. One of the hardest working people in the tech space, and as a result one of the most accomplished.

Very cool people

  • Philip Clark: An investor at Thrive Capital. He’s really smart because he’s good at the intersection of Finance and Engineering.

  • John Luttig: Principal at Founders Fund. His writing is amazing. It’s basically financial competitive strategy applied to tech startups.
